Throw down on a new mat

I recently tested a TOMUNO yoga mat and I'm happy to report that it fulfilled its claim at being "The best yoga mat ever". Prior to practicing on this mat, I hadn't given too much preference to one mat over another. Perhaps because I hadn't found a mat that addressed the subtle design flaws found in some of the major brands, namely the inability of the mat to flatten out after being rolled, the unsuitable surface (either too slippery or too rough), and most importantly the fact that some mats are not eco-friendly.

In contrast, the TOMUNO mat has no memory, meaning that as soon as you put it down, it lies nice and flat. It also has two distinct sides with different levels of friction. One side, more appropriate for hot n' sweaty classes because it offers a high-friction surface for even the sweatiest palms to grip. The other side stills offers a non-slip surface, though a bit less rough. The latter side is my preference for vinyasa styles where the ability to move with ease may be more desirable than friction. In any case, this mat offers the yogi choice on a class by class basis, or even the option to flip your mat in the midst of practice (think handstand). Yet another option could be to designate one side as the side to put in contact with the floor and the other side for contact with your body; the differentiated side would make this quite easy. After all, Cleanliness is next to godliness.

And the best part is the best trait of these mats is their eco-friendliness. They are made out of sustainable rubber trees and are free from harmful chemicals. The company appears genuine in it's desire to offer a yoga mat that is compatible with yogic values. Additionally, the mat is cushioned enough so that your knees will feel padded luring lunging postures and the like, while the mat in no too bulky for transport. Though it currently comes in only one color, it is a pleasing and serene blu/grey tone.

Way to go TOMUNO!
